Assessment and Feedback Information

We carry out regular assessments with our students throughout their time with us, and believe that it’s important that parents also have an overview of what we will be assessing and feeding back to them during the five years their children will spend at Icknield. We therefore provide you with some calendars to help make this process as clear as possible.

At Key Stage Three we have an Assessment and Feedback Sheets Schedule for each year (7-9) and these will tell parents when we will be reporting on the many different units studied by students across the three years. English, Maths and Science will send assessment and feedback information home each term (excluding term one) and most other subjects will report home three times per year. This reporting is mostly done via assessment and feedback sheets which give a breakdown of information linked to the skills covered in that particular unit and will be brought home by students

At Key Stage Four, parents can view the KS4 Assessment Calendars which detail the dates of all assessments (internal and external) as well as details about exam boards and percentages of the course made up by the different assessments. Of course, at Key Stage Four over the next few years you will see a move towards more linear exams (exams taken at the end of Year 11) as the GCSE system changes due to the new 1-9 graded courses first introduced in English and Maths (first examinations in summer 2017).
