PE

What we teach
Our aim is to ensure that all our students are given the opportunity to acquire and develop a wide range of sporting skills whilst developing their ability and confidence within both competitive and non-competitive environments.

How we teach

Our curriculum aims to be diverse by including a wide range of sports and fitness activities to ensure that there is something for everyone.  Students are also given opportunities to develop their teambuilding, leadership and officiating skills, providing useful, transferable life skills.

At KS4, all students will take part in core PE, but will have a more personalised pathway across an even greater variety of activities, with health and fitness being a key focus. Many students also opt for GCSE PE which includes additional, classroom based PE lessons which cover a wide range of topics.

Why we teach

We want to give students the best opportunity of becoming lifelong lovers of sport.  We offer a wide range of extra-curricular clubs suitable for all abilities and coach a number of successful sports teams.  We want to give students the opportunity to compete at the highest level, whilst supporting, encouraging and inspiring all of our students to have healthy, active lifestyles.
